MELT YOURSELF DOWN!

100% YES!

The latest album from Avant-JazzParty six piece says it all in the title really. An incredibly invigorating listening that makes you want to leap up from your vegetative state and shout at the top of your lungs…

YES, OH YES, OH YES!

Pete Wareham has been at the helm of some of the best forward-thinking jazz records over the past decade, with Acoustic Ladyland, Polar Bear and more. Melt Yourself Down continue to push things further forward with their third full length.

Its one of the most instantly gratifying albums that I have listened to recently. It just immediately massages all of my booty-shaking glands, shooting euphoria through this vacuous meat sack that doth currently type upon this machine.

Melt Yourself Down take heavy inspiration from North African rhythms and melodies, with Wareham’s sax blurting out ferocious motifs over the rhythm section’s inestimable rolling grooves that underpin the whole album. There is not much else to say really, its just a whole lot of fun and a whole lot of party, making it some of the best 39 minutes I have enjoyed in the past month or so. Get Up offa tha thing and check it!
